The Legacy

Legacy. It's not really something you think about until you hit a certain point in your life and you realize... Do I actually have somebody to leave everything I've worked my entire life to build and cherish?

Well, that question has seriously been hitting me recently. Do I have somebody to leave my companies, my knowledge, my life experiences too... God forbid something were to happen to me, will it all just go down with me? I really hope not!

So... What do you do? That's a really good question!

The need to leave a legacy is our spiritual need to have a sense of meaning, purpose, personal congruence, and contribution to the world.

As a parent with two teenagers, as they approach the age of figuring out what they want to do in life I'm reminded of the importance of time but also legacy. To be honest, I don't suspect my kids will be the ones to carry on what I've built and that's okay but it does leave for a lot of question marks down the road.

Everything a father does in life is for his family and for his kids. When I am tired, you give me the strength to go on. When I am discouraged, you give me hope. When I am afraid, you give me peace. When I am feeling alone, you bring me comfort and you fill my spirit and soul with peace and love.
